The God Who Holds and Heals

A few hours after our sweet little boy was born, I experienced a severe postpartum hemorrhage. My peaceful delivery room turned into a chaotic operating room in a matter of minutes. I laid in my bed helpless, surrounded by doctors and nurses who worked quickly and confidently to bring God’s own healing.

In the uncertainty and pain, the words of Isaiah 43 were scrolling through my mind on repeat. “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine”… and so on. (Memorizing Scripture is worth the effort!) In that moment, those words reminded me that Jesus was holding me close — nothing else mattered.

7 weeks later, my doctor has given me a perfect bill of health, and my heart is filled with awe at God’s sustaining mercy. This deep valley is behind me now, but I won’t forget it, and that’s a good thing. This season has reminded me that God’s faithfulness is real. When we are weak, He is strong. When we feel uncertain, He whispers peace. When life changes in ways we can’t control, He redeems, restores, and makes all things new. Every small blessing is a reminder of His goodness and mercy. Each breath declares “life is a gift”!

To anyone walking through fear or uncertainty: the LORD sees you, He holds you, and He calls you by name. Rest in Him, trust His promises, and know that the love of Jesus is faithful, constant, and all-sustaining. In the shadow of His cross, suffering is never meaningless. God is working all things for our good and His glory.
